About Medusa

From Spare Room to Trusted Brand

Medusa started in a small apartment in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. Two friends—both fascinated by fungi and frustrated by complicated grow kits—decided to design a cleaner, faster way to grow magic truffles at home. After dozens of prototypes and a lot of late-night lab tests, the Medusa Magic Truffle Bag was born. Today our kits ship across Europe, but every batch is still mixed, sterilised and sealed in Alkmaar to keep the quality exactly where we want it.

What We Stand For

Core Value What It Means in Practice
Simplicity Three-step instructions, no lab gear, no guesswork.
Safety EU-grade clean-room, food-grade materials, and our Medusa-Shield™ filter barrier on every bag.
Transparency Clear sourcing, batch tracking, and lab tests for every substrate blend.
Sustainability Reusable bags, wind-powered production, and spent substrate donated to local gardens.

Why Choose Medusa?

  1. High, Consistent Yields
Optimised substrate and tight quality control give you a reliable 60–90 g harvest under normal room conditions.

  2. Beginner-Proof Design
Open, add water, wait. First-time growers get the same success rate as seasoned hobbyists.

  3. Made in the Netherlands
Dutch biotech standards plus short supply lines mean fresher kits and smaller carbon footprints.

  4. Community & Research Support
We donate kits to universities and mental-health projects exploring the benefits of psilocybin, and we sponsor harm-reduction workshops across Europe.

Inside the Lab

Every Medusa bag is filled with a grain-plus-mineral mix that we sterilise for 16 hours at 121 °C. Bags cool in a positive-pressure clean-room before they’re inoculated and vacuum-sealed. That extra step keeps contamination rates below 1 %, well under industry average.

Sustainability Promise

  • 60 % less single-use plastic thanks to reusable grow bags.

  • 100 % Dutch wind energy powers our sterilisation autoclaves.

  • Circular waste stream: spent substrate enriches community gardens around Alkmaar.
